This is our list of the props we may include in the opening two minutes of our film.
Props
This is our list of the props we may include in the opening two minutes of our film.
Props
- Guns/Knives
We may use guns such as pistols as they are the usual weapon for the main protagonist, an example of this would be James Bond as he always has his traditional Walther PPK. We could also include more destructive and exciting weapons such as machine guns or grenades to create explosions. The guns would be spray painted black to look more realistic and also hidden from the sight the enemies. We could also use a knife as back up to the gun for stealth scenes or close quarters.
- Earpiece
We could use an earpiece to allow the main protagonist to be updated about his missions and follow his instructions, the villains may also have earpieces in order to communicate with each other. The ear pieces would have no cables and look professional as if it were a real prop from a James Bond film.
- Briefcase
A briefcase could be used in order to create an enigma. It would either be black or dark brown which would look old and stylish. The briefcase could contain anything from money to weapons which makes the audience question and wonder why it has been used.
- Mobile Phone
We may have someone with a phone to show that he is wealthy and maybe a business man that is distanced from the characters as they have ear pieces. The main antagonist could use it to show that he is more superior to the rest as he is different to them.
Mood Board
Mood board - Action Film
Just some images to give us some ideas for our film. The pictures of weapons connote that our film will be categorised in the action genre section. The mask and briefcase suggest that a mysterious background could be included which is true as some of the characters are special agents.
If we were to use any of these props it would mean that we would either have to borrow them from friends or buy them ourselves-this seemed to not be the ideal approach so we adjusted our schedule and decided to go with a fast paced opening of a chase scene with a final confrontation.
In fact we didn't use any of the props below as we didn't want to go in guns blazing and instead started it with a chase scene that kept our audience on the edge of their seats.

Costume Research 1
Costumes Research
The main protagonist and antagonist could be wearing suit to show their superiority over the the other characters. The main protagonist could have a grey or navy suit like the one Daniel Craig uses in the James Bond films (shown in the images above). The main antagonist could have a black suit (shown in the image to the right) which would follow the typical costumes of an action villain-however we may have the main antagonist wearing a light coloured suit such as a cream suit (shown in the image below) to subvert the typical stereotypes and so that he is not easily spotted which could shock the audience and create suspense.
