Wall-E Opening Scene Analysis

                                                          Wall-E Opening Scene Analysis

In the opening scene it starts off with the production company Pixar appearing with the famous animation giving the audience an insight, by showing what company has helped create this film and possibly what can be expected by other films they have produced(giving relative/link factor's to the audience). The titles then Fade out into a dark picture with bright dots appearing signifying stars in space giving the audience an instantly recognisable feature to look at, the camera then pans to another production company ''walt disney'' and starts playing a somewhat bouncy American retro music and singing suggesting to the audience that the film will be a lighthearted one because of the iconic production titles and music.

After the titles have faded away the directer uses the spacial feature as a backdrop for the next 20 seconds by going through different galaxy's and planets before zooming into earth which gives the suggestion that the film will be a lighthearted Sci-Fi one because of the incorporation of orbit and different planets, however the camera stops and starts zooming into earth showing that the film's main setting will be earth.Once the camera has come through the earths atmosphere it locates itself to a location that looks like a super normal rubbish tip meaning the earth must of had some sort of tragedy as there is no logical explanation have having such a large deserted wasteland, but as the camera keeps with an overhead shot of earths battlefield of rubbish it then fly's by places that look like ruined cities this gives the audience the suggestion of destruction and disaster which completely contrasts what the audience were expecting, this technique will keep the audience interested as the film gets sadder with the camera stopping over a robot cleaning up with the music and singing fading away a bit like turning down the radio in a car.

Universal Studio's

I feel that Universal Studios will and are the best institution i can use in the film we are currently creating because of the proven track record of constantly creating world renowned films.

Universal studios have produced films such as

Mr Beans Holiday
Ted
Fast And Furious 6
And are currently in the stage of producing Fast And Furious 7,Ted and Search Party .
This is one reason i have chosen this production company; the abundance of big box office breakers that can make any film a huge hit and the perfect trend of comedy, sport and action(average film profit £ 355 000 000).

Setting Research For The Film

                              Setting Research For The Film

The settings we can use for the film are the following

My fist option for my setting is Langley vale because of the serene aura it could give to the audience ,by having a quaint village also gives versatility to our film meaning a better more dynamic film structure and relativity.By having a small setting allows us to broaden out and expand our population area(larger area), so we can use Epsom to re locate and link a small suburbia and a thriving town because of the localised link between them giving the audience a relative effect which can be used as an advantage towards our film.

My last possible location for the film is various points in London,by doing it gives the target audience an aspect of importance and cosmopolitanism because if we use an establishing shot at the beginning of our film it gives an insight to the audience of what the rest of our film will be about and the links within it.The possible locations are china town because this location can show dynamism and intentionality meaning the film is diverse and cultured, this location can also link with the other possible setting which is the Chelsea area because of the rich status of the area and almost instantly recognisable landmarks and meaning a fluid backdrop of professionalism and coolness, this area is also very diverse and cultured which could give the audience a solid bases of the film and relative links throughout.
