Wall-E Opening Scene Analysis

                                                          Wall-E Opening Scene Analysis

In the opening scene it starts off with the production company Pixar appearing with the famous animation giving the audience an insight, by showing what company has helped create this film and possibly what can be expected by other films they have produced(giving relative/link factor's to the audience). The titles then Fade out into a dark picture with bright dots appearing signifying stars in space giving the audience an instantly recognisable feature to look at, the camera then pans to another production company ''walt disney'' and starts playing a somewhat bouncy American retro music and singing suggesting to the audience that the film will be a lighthearted one because of the iconic production titles and music.

After the titles have faded away the directer uses the spacial feature as a backdrop for the next 20 seconds by going through different galaxy's and planets before zooming into earth which gives the suggestion that the film will be a lighthearted Sci-Fi one because of the incorporation of orbit and different planets, however the camera stops and starts zooming into earth showing that the film's main setting will be earth.Once the camera has come through the earths atmosphere it locates itself to a location that looks like a super normal rubbish tip meaning the earth must of had some sort of tragedy as there is no logical explanation have having such a large deserted wasteland, but as the camera keeps with an overhead shot of earths battlefield of rubbish it then fly's by places that look like ruined cities this gives the audience the suggestion of destruction and disaster which completely contrasts what the audience were expecting, this technique will keep the audience interested as the film gets sadder with the camera stopping over a robot cleaning up with the music and singing fading away a bit like turning down the radio in a car.

Universal Studio's

I feel that Universal Studios will and are the best institution i can use in the film we are currently creating because of the proven track record of constantly creating world renowned films.

Universal studios have produced films such as

Mr Beans Holiday
Ted
Fast And Furious 6
And are currently in the stage of producing Fast And Furious 7,Ted and Search Party .
This is one reason i have chosen this production company; the abundance of big box office breakers that can make any film a huge hit and the perfect trend of comedy, sport and action(average film profit £ 355 000 000).

Setting Research For The Film

                              Setting Research For The Film

The settings we can use for the film are the following

My fist option for my setting is Langley vale because of the serene aura it could give to the audience ,by having a quaint village also gives versatility to our film meaning a better more dynamic film structure and relativity.By having a small setting allows us to broaden out and expand our population area(larger area), so we can use Epsom to re locate and link a small suburbia and a thriving town because of the localised link between them giving the audience a relative effect which can be used as an advantage towards our film.

My last possible location for the film is various points in London,by doing it gives the target audience an aspect of importance and cosmopolitanism because if we use an establishing shot at the beginning of our film it gives an insight to the audience of what the rest of our film will be about and the links within it.The possible locations are china town because this location can show dynamism and intentionality meaning the film is diverse and cultured, this location can also link with the other possible setting which is the Chelsea area because of the rich status of the area and almost instantly recognisable landmarks and meaning a fluid backdrop of professionalism and coolness, this area is also very diverse and cultured which could give the audience a solid bases of the film and relative links throughout.

The shot using in our film

The shots i will use is

long shot-This because of the dramatised effect this shot gives

extreme close up-to allow audience the ability to see emotion of characters faces
extreme long shot -to show audience a picture of scenery at a longer depth of field
high angle -to show power
low angle-to show nervousness or submission
over the shoulder shot-to give the audience a POV perspective of the character
tracking shot-to show the characters movement
shot reverse shot-to quickly give different shots to characters to define emotion
establishing shots, to give the audience a plot of place in the opening scene which could lead to assumption or pre Inquisitions

The social network opening scene

The Social Network Opening Scene

In the opening scene of the social network the audience hears mark Zuckerburgs girlfriend dump him and call him a swear word because of the way he acts, she then walks off and leaves mark on a table on his own in a busy pub giving the audience an effect of loneliness and thought rehabilitation.Because of the social awkwardness of mark he then starts to get jumpy and decides to leave the thirsty scholar pub  suggesting that mark lives and studies on a campus as the name of the pub suggests this, when mark leaves and the directer uses birds eye views of were mark is running to to get out of the pub and into his flat the camera eventually lowers down to mark running through a campus of a university confirming to the audience that mark studies at a prestigious university because of the size and design of the campus.

The fact that mark studies at a prestigious university could give the target audience the effect of smartness which could lead to the whole plot of the film by making a billion dollar company.

pirates of the carrabian curse of the black pearl opening 2 minuites

Pirates Of The Carrabian Curse Of The Black Pearl Opening 2 Minuites

The opening 2 minutes of the film starts off with a camera full of fog with a pirates ship slowly emerging from the depths within and a well dressed out of place girl singing a tradintinal pirates song suggesting to the audience that the film will be about an indescribable fear and cursing which is shown from the outset of this clip.Once the pirate boat appears clearly in the shot from long shot to extreme closeup of the girl, the camera cuts to a zooming over the shoulder shot of the well attired girl giving the audience the suggestion that someone or something is moving closer and closer to her and the next shot funnily enough a low down pirate pushes her shoulder back and orders her to stop singing because of what lerks in the waters they are sailing in.After the talk to the girl has finished a senior pirate asks why the lower down pirate is ordering the well dressed girl to stop singing,so he must ague his case to the senior pirate:the audience believe this because of the contrast in atair.

As soon as the lower ranked pirate is orded away the young girl tells the senior pirate and his accomplice she would love to meet a pirate but unfortunately they do not agree and tells the small girl that he plans to eradicate them from the history books giving the audience the effect of bitterness and hatred because of the pessimism towards pirates.

The Rock Opening Scene

The Rock Opening Scene

In the opening 2 minutes of the rock it starts with the production titles without any music showing the audience the behind the scenes part of the film which then zones into dramatic war like music along with a possible war zone calls and voices from the past suggesting to the audience that something quintessential has happened or is about to happen.

With the running titles still appearing with the actors names, the images appear to be a some what sinister army environment with dark relating music giving the effect of fear and redemption to the audience but as soon as these appear the directer cuts to the main title the rock in a graphic fire imitation, giving a reference to the audience.after the main title it continues with the army representation again meaning the whole film must relate to past army experiences as the images and sounds of the aftermath of war show this.

when the army representation continues a little longer you hear the words "there not coming for us are they sir"with a face of repent while this is happening suggesting a grave injustice or betrayal has occurred and is the reason for what is about to happen next as the guard of honour sums this up for the target audience.

Any Given Sunday Film Titles

Any Given Sunday Film Titles

In the opening 2 minutes of any given Sunday it starts with quotes of knowledge and wisdom from few people with notoriety suggesting that the target audience is for people over 15 and the film will be about prospect, hope and achievement within a certain group, (the musical is spiritual giving the effect of wonder to the audience). The font used in the titles is a traditional Latin italic like font because it relates to traditionalism and values in the team sport of football, which is shown throughout the film. The spiritual music then twines into a more slow, futuristic tension like music with an extreme close up of a footballers blooded hand on a grass stained football showing a build up of tension on the player and that something significant will happen soon to that player.

The camera then switches to the players face giving the audience a character to relate to, then the music immediately stops and starts to show a line of players battling for the ball and the player that the audience can relate to gets injured by a hard tackle suggesting that he can take a hit in the sport of football and his team are complaisant because he was not defend properly as a quarterback, with the physios rushing onto the pitch suggesting to the audience that the injury is a awful one and must be treated quickly as the physios expression shows this.

Preliminary Task Evaluation

Preliminary Task Evaluation

Ryan,Cory and I used continuity throughout our mini film clip,we selectively chose the main hall to be our setting for our film because it gave us a good basis and chance for alternative angles for us to use and integrate within our film. The characters managed to work around the scenery very effectively manoeuvring up and around objects which shows good spacial awareness skills .The relationship between characters was positive which comes off in the clip,The two criminal characters exchanged a
couple of lines each expressing the laid back nature of the thug life.

throughout the clip we used a variety of shots such as :mid shot, long shot and tracking shot, these where effective camera angles because of the fluidity of every shot by editing the clip and also these are dynamic shots showing the audience what the characters are feeling like by portraying emotions through camera angles.
